We are returning in 2012 to continue paddling for our sixth year. Our first year was very successful. Our motivated women made it to the semi-finals in 2007. Then in 2008, A Shui Life broke all of their own records from the year before with the best time of 2:52! In 2010, we won 2nd in Women's Divison II!! Unfortunately it is not cheap to participate in this sport, and we rely on help with donations for A Shui Life to continue.
Our costs include a race entry fee of $1,400, uniform costs, screen printing costs, food/drinks provided for team during the race days and extra accessories that we need as a team. Donations also help reduce the membership fee that every team member is asked to contribute. Once these mandatory costs are covered, it is our dream to one day be able to rent a recreational Hong-Kong boat for extra practice times before the competitive dragon boats return to the Willamette River in April.
Contributions of $250 or greater will get your name recognized on our banner and uniforms. Because A Shui Life is not registered with the government as a non-profit organization, tax-deductible donations are not possible. Past donators have considered it a great opportunity to support our group while advertising their business. If you still have questions regarding sponsorship or is interested in donating, please email them to a.shui.life@gmail.com.
